Our certifications and great pride

We seek out safe, sustainable, and renewable materials to ensure the highest quality and integrity for our products. Biobag waste bags, sacks, liners and films are certified compostable and biodegradable (term used commonly in Europe) according to the US Standard ASTM D6400, the European Standard EN 13432, and the Australian Standard AS473.

Our bags, sacks and liners hold compostable certifications issued by several certification institutions including Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI), Compost Manufacturing Alliance (CMA), TÜV AUSTRIA OK Compost (Industrial & Home).

Many of our bags are also Non-GMO Project Verified and US Food and Drug Administration Approved (FDA). 

BPl certificate ensures that our products are industrially compostable, meeting ASTM D6400 standards and do not leave behind harmful residues. Note Commercial facilities may not exist in your area. Check locally. BPI Certification # 891053.

Fully tested and approved by Compost Manufacturing Alliance. Composter Approved Categories: CMA-H, CMA-I (Covered In-Vessel), CMA-W (Windrow Technology) and CMA-A (Aerated Static Pile).

Products must meet strict criteria for GMO avoidance to achieve this verification. Biobag’s 3 Gallon Food Scrap Bags, 13 Gallon Food Scrap Bags, Compostable Commercial Liners, and Compostable Produce Bags have been Non-GMO Project Verified.

OK compost HOME certification ensures that our bags, sacks and liners containing this logo will biodegrade in a home environment such as a garden compost setting.

OK compost INDUSTRIAL certification ensures that our bags, sacks and liners containing this logo biodegrade at an industrial composting plant.

OK biodegradable SOIL certification is mainly applied in the agricultural sector and ensures that our mulch film is biodegradable in soil.
